Auld Lange Syne

I honestly hadn't been out on New Year's Eve in several years but in defiance of 2009 and with an invitation to the opening of the new art gallery - 12 Gallagher Lane: A Hunt Slonem Gallery - where master chef Gary Danko's birthday was being celebrated as well as New Year's Eve I said "sod it. I'm going!"

The gallery owners have turned a disused space into a wonderfully ethereal environment and of course the food was fantastic. A good time was had by all as I believe you will see.

I'm predicting 12 Gallagher Lane will be a great success. If you want to know more about it contact info@12gallagherlane.com

And though at the time of this blog post it is past midnight New Year's Eve, why not sing Auld Lange Syne just one more time!

Take your pick.... The Scottish Parliament version where if you will look closely you will see Sean Connery or the Red Hot Chili Peppers..

And a one-and-a-two-and-a-three

Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
and never brought to mind ?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
and auld lang syne ?

CHORUS:
For auld lang syne, my jo,
for auld lang syne,
we’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.

And surely ye’ll be your pint-stowp !
and surely I’ll be mine !
And we’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.

CHORUS

We twa hae run about the braes,
and pu’d the gowans fine ;
But we’ve wander’d mony a weary foot,
sin auld lang syne.

CHORUS

We twa hae paidl’d i' the burn,
frae morning sun till dine ;
But seas between us braid hae roar’d
sin auld lang syne.

CHORUS

And there’s a hand, my trusty fiere !
and gie's a hand o’ thine !
And we’ll tak a right gude-willy waught,
for auld lang syne.
