A la mode !

I'm not talking ice cream here. I'm talking Chictopia whose CEO/co-founder, Helen Zhu, was the inspiration for my creating this blog.

Last night at the swank W Hotel in SOMA, Chictopia put on an event to showcase current collections from local and international designers. A good time was had by all!

Chictopia has something like 120,000 members now (Helen, correct me if I am wrong) and I am proudly #112. What's so fascinating are the advances in technology that have enabled all of this. As I think back on my lengthy, but now distant, media career, in the dinosaur era when AOL was Tyrannosaurus Rex (and that was not too long ago) the whole notion, though not very well thought out or articulated, was to congregate a mass of people with like-minded interests.

Congratulations Helen, Corrine and Ricky on your Chictopia success!

p.s. I cannot close without a musical reference which has some relevance to my blog - as obscure as they might be! The intended connection here is the relationship between music and fashion which was brought much closer together by groups the likes of Roxy Music. Enjoy!
